Software Engineer, Integrations

About the role

We’re Scan.com, building America’s national imaging network that connects patients, providers, and payers to faster, better‑value diagnostic imaging. As a Software Engineer, Integrations you will architect and build the systems that make demand‑side connections robust, observable, and extensible.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain integration connectors for modern and legacy EHR systems to retrieve physician referrals and patient documentation.
• Architect a fault‑tolerant message queuing and delivery infrastructure for inbound and outbound HL7 and API traffic.
• Develop and sustain REST API integrations with third‑party referral sources, attorney platforms, and demand aggregators.
• Own the observability layer for integration infrastructure, including structured logging, alerting on processing latency/failures, and dashboards for proactive issue detection.

Required profile

• Proven ability to integrate with legacy systems not designed for modern interoperability.
• Proficiency in at least one backend language used in high‑reliability integration contexts (e.g., Python, Ruby, Java, C#).
• Familiarity with RESTful API integration patterns, schema versioning, backward compatibility, and API contract management.
• Strong operational instincts: instrumented builds, anticipation of failure modes, and effective handling of on‑call escalations.
• Bias for innovation and a desire to build next‑generation products.
• Healthcare experience is a plus but not required.
