Software Engineer III – Android

About the role

JPMorgan Chase is looking for a seasoned Android engineer to join the Business Access & Tools team. You will design, build, and maintain market‑leading mobile solutions that support the firm’s business objectives while delivering a high‑quality user experience.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Android features using Kotlin/Java, ensuring compatibility across devices and OS versions.
• Lead moderately complex initiatives, including UI flows, state management, offline handling, and error recovery.
• Integrate with backend services via REST or GraphQL, implement secure authentication, and manage local storage and network communications safely.
• Write and maintain automated tests (unit, instrumentation, UI) and improve app stability through crash reduction, ANR mitigation, and performance tuning.
• Drive CI/CD enhancements for Android builds, including linting, static analysis, test automation, signing, and release workflows.
• Leverage approved AI‑assisted tools (e.g., Claude AI) to accelerate refactoring, test generation, and documentation while ensuring rigorous validation.

Required profile

• Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts.
• 3+ years of hands‑on Android development experience.
• Strong expertise with Kotlin, Android SDK, and modern architecture patterns such as MVVM or Clean Architecture.
• Experience building UI with Jetpack Compose and/or XML, including accessibility and responsive layouts.
• Proficiency in mobile testing practices, CI/CD pipelines, and secure coding standards.
