Software Engineer II – Decision Management

About the role

Mastercard is looking for a Software Engineer II to join the Notification Manager team within the Decision Management Program. You will help build and maintain the high‑volume enterprise notification platform that delivers email, SMS, and API alerts for fraud, security, and customer engagement.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain Java/Spring Boot microservices.
• Create scalable, maintainable, and reliable service components and interactions.
• Implement new features, enhancements, and defect fixes for Notification Manager services.
• Participate in technical design discussions and translate requirements into working code.
• Write clean, secure code following Mastercard engineering standards.
• Develop and maintain automated unit, integration, and API tests.
• Contribute to event‑driven architectures using Kafka and distributed processing patterns.
• Support platform modernization, service decomposition, resiliency improvements, and cloud‑native deployment.
• Participate in production support, incident response, root‑cause analysis, and release activities.
• Monitor system health with observability tools and optimize performance, latency, and resource utilization.

Required profile

• Mid‑level software engineering experience with a focus on backend services.
• Strong understanding of microservice architecture and event‑driven design.
• Ability to work collaboratively with product, TPMs, architects, QA, and partner engineering teams.
• Experience delivering scalable, resilient, and secure solutions in a fast‑paced environment.
