Software Engineer – Healthcare AI Agent

About the role

Join Sierra’s Healthcare team to design and ship production‑grade AI agents that handle sensitive patient and member interactions. You will work directly with health‑plan executives and providers to create compliant, empathetic experiences that improve access to care.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver production‑grade AI agents that handle sensitive patient and member interactions while maintaining HIPAA compliance.
• Own the Agent Development Life Cycle from pilot to deployment and continuous iteration for healthcare payers, providers, and platforms.
• Partner with health‑plan executives and technical teams to translate high‑volume call challenges into scalable AI solutions.
• Develop deep expertise in healthcare workflows, EHR integrations, and interoperability standards to build trustworthy experiences.
• Shape Sierra’s core platform by surfacing unmet needs, prototyping new tools, and collaborating with research and product teams.

Required profile

• Proven experience building and scaling end‑to‑end production systems.
• Strong problem‑solving ability in fast‑changing, ambiguous environments.
• High agency and a builder mindset, able to ship creative solutions.
• Excellent communication skills for both technical and non‑technical audiences.
• Genuine interest in improving patient and member experiences.
