Social Services Technician II – Perinatal Case Management

About the role

The State of Georgia is seeking a Social Services Technician II to support perinatal case management programs in Cobb and Douglas Counties. This position works under general supervision to provide para‑professional services that promote the health and safety of pregnant residents.

Key responsibilities

• Screen clients for Perinatal Case Management (PCM), Babies Born Healthy (BBH), and PE Pregnant Woman Medicaid (PEMD) services.
• Perform clerical and administrative duties to support program operations.
• Assist prenatal clients with case management, including enrollment and follow‑up.
• Lead processing of PE Pregnancy Medicaid applications and troubleshoot related issues.
• Train staff, conduct audits, and serve as subject‑matter expert on Medicaid policy.
• Provide referrals to WIC, Cobb Safe Kids car seat program, and other community resources.
• Maintain HIPAA compliance and accommodate clients’ language and cultural needs.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional coursework in social services or public health preferred.
• Experience working in a public‑health or social‑service environment, especially with pregnant populations.
• Strong customer‑service orientation and ability to communicate clearly with diverse clients.
• Knowledge of Medicaid policies and eligibility requirements.

Required skills

• Proficiency in standard office software (e.g., word processing, spreadsheets).
• Ability to conduct client interviews and maintain accurate records.
• Understanding of HIPAA privacy regulations.
