Social Media Associate

About the role

We’re hiring a Social Media Associate to own and grow Cape’s voice across social media channels. This person will be the driving force behind multiplying our following, sharpening our brand voice into something people actually want to engage with, and helping establish Cape as a credible, quotable voice in the broader public conversation about privacy.

Key responsibilities

• Own social copywriting, editing, and posting end‑to‑end, develop and evolve Cape’s brand voice across channels, copy‑edit and upload blog posts, and write and edit email marketing copy and flows.
• Identify and shape opportunities for Cape to weigh in on public privacy conversations and translate technical/product features into compelling narratives for social and video content.
• Handle light operations such as ordering business cards, conference materials, and replying to inbound email inquiries, requiring product familiarity.

Required profile

• Demonstrated ability to grow social following and engagement with a recognizable, differentiated voice.
• Content that gets cited, shared, or referenced in broader privacy conversations, establishing credibility with reporters and researchers.
• Email flows run smoothly with minimal oversight and consistently high copy quality.
• Experience building systems (calendars, trackers, briefs) that allow the function to scale beyond a single person.
