SIU Litigation Attorney – 2+ Years Experience

About the role

Marshall Dennehey is seeking an experienced SIU Litigation Attorney to join its New York‑area offices. The attorney will focus on defending insurance carriers and commercial insureds against fraudulent medical and other claims, and will also lead affirmative actions such as RICO‑based litigation.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with SIU departments to investigate and defend against fraudulent claims.
• Research, prepare, file, and litigate fraud actions, including RICO and other affirmative actions.
• Develop litigation strategies, negotiate complex matters, and draft motions, memoranda, and briefs.
• Conduct depositions, examinations under oath (EUOs), and attend arbitrations, mediations, and trials.
• Represent the firm in state and federal court appearances, including hearings and status conferences.
• Draft pre‑ and post‑trial motions and negotiate settlements.

Required profile

• At least two years of litigation experience, preferably in insurance fraud defense.
• Strong passion for combating fraud against the insurance industry.
• Ability to work independently in New York, Purchase, or Melville offices.
• Excellent legal writing and negotiation skills.

Required skills

• Litigation and investigative expertise.
• Proficiency in drafting motions, briefs, and settlement documents.
• Experience with depositions, EUOs, and courtroom advocacy.
• Knowledge of RICO and other affirmative litigation tactics.
