Service Technician – Edison

About the role

The Service Technician ensures that buildings, grounds, amenities and common areas meet Greystar’s standards for cleanliness, appearance, safety and functionality. The role involves responding to resident service requests, performing preventative maintenance, and preparing vacant units for new occupants.

Key responsibilities

• Complete work orders from resident requests and perform preventative maintenance, diagnosing issues and repairing according to policies and code.
• Execute the make‑ready process for vacant apartments, including inspections, punch‑list creation, scheduling vendors, and final quality checks.
• Manage inventory of tools, supplies and equipment, tracking usage and notifying the supervisor of re‑order needs.
• Document service requests accurately and maintain paperwork for tracking.
• Perform grounds and common‑area upkeep such as trash removal, pressure‑washing, cleaning and painting as needed.
• Inspect contractor work to verify compliance with quality standards and specifications.
• Participate in safety meetings, complete OSHA training and report incidents promptly.

Required profile

• EPA certifications Type 1 and 2 or Universal for refrigerant recycling.
• All state and local certifications required for service technicians.
• Valid driver’s license to operate a golf cart where applicable.
• Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends and holidays, and to respond to on‑call duties.
• Physical ability to lift up to 25 lb independently, 50 lb with assistance, and work in all weather conditions.
