Service Supervisor – Area Management Services

About the role

This position supervises and schedules all aspects of process field operations within a multi‑state area, ensuring safety, regulatory compliance, staffing, and achievement of revenue and gross‑margin goals. The role also supports customer service, quality oversight, and field service projects such as commissioning, troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repairs of gas compression, refrigeration and natural‑gas processing systems.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and supervise technicians across the area, optimizing assignments to reduce travel time and response intervals.
• Monitor unplanned service calls, vehicle maintenance costs and field service reports to ensure operational efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with environmental, safety and regulatory standards on all field activities.
• Maintain proactive communication with the Branch Manager regarding staffing, productivity and customer issues.
• Develop and sustain internal and external customer relationships while representing the company professionally.

Required profile

• Minimum 15 years of experience providing preventative and corrective field service on gas compression or production equipment.
• High school diploma or GED with advanced vocational/technical training and relevant OEM certifications (e.g., CAT Gas I & II, CAT Electrical, Ariel Mechanical, Waukesha VHP).
• Valid driver’s license, ability to pass pre‑employment drug screen and background check, and ownership of personal tools.
• Proven ability to train technicians and oversee major repair decisions.

Required skills

• Mechanical service and troubleshooting of gas compressors and production equipment.
• Advanced knowledge of gas & oil properties, compressor theory, and installation/commissioning procedures.
• Proficiency with precision tooling: dial indicators, laser alignment devices, feeler gauges, digital volt‑ohm meters, emissions test equipment, hydraulic torqueing tools.
• Electrical/control‑panel expertise, including reading schematics and diagnosing major OEM panels (Murphy, Altronic, Allen‑Bradley).
• Use of CAT ET or equivalent diagnostic software and CAT Gas Engine Rating Pro for performance calculations.
• Interpretation of P&ID, blueprints, installation manuals and compliance with Ariel ER‑82 standards.
