Senior Workout Officer – Remote

About the role

Santander is seeking a Senior Workout Officer to join its remote team. In this senior position you will apply deep expertise in loan workout and portfolio management to protect the bank’s assets and drive effective resolution of distressed credit situations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the collection and workout process for complex loan accounts, improving existing procedures.
• Analyze credit submissions and determine eligibility for restructuring or refinancing.
• Manage advanced‑complexity accounts in line with risk‑management objectives and budget targets.
• Oversee workout‑process expenses and ensure compliance with corporate policies, training, valuation and environmental standards.
• Identify trends in severely delinquent or charged‑off accounts and provide actionable feedback to credit and senior management.
• Process charged‑off financings, including litigation support, asset discovery and fraud investigations.
• Mentor junior workout professionals and lead special workout projects or programs.
• Communicate credit risk recommendations to strengthen lending supervision and measurement tools.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in workout portfolio management or underwriting, preferably with SBA loan multifamily properties.
• 9+ years of overall experience in the financial industry.
• Strong presentation and communication abilities.
