Senior Vehicle Application Software Engineer

About the role

SYLUX is looking for a senior engineer to develop, integrate and validate advanced software features for its infrared perception and safety systems. The role combines software development, vehicle integration, ADAS feature creation and real‑world testing on vehicles and test rigs in Farmington Hills, Michigan.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, integrate and validate software that leverages SYLUX infrared cameras and CDAT™ AI perception to create vehicle‑level ADAS functions such as AEB, FCW, ACC and blind‑spot monitoring.
• Maintain and optimise a globally shared vehicle‑application code base used across engineering teams.
• Translate system and customer requirements into functional software features and vehicle behaviours, from proof‑of‑concept to customer‑ready demonstrations.
• Develop algorithms that convert perception outputs (object classification, distance, tracking, speed) into warnings, decisions and control actions.
• Perform driver and kernel‑level hardware bring‑up, diagnose low‑level driver and kernel module issues, and support CAN‑bus integration using tools such as CANalyzer and Kvaser.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Computer Engineering, Robotics, Mechatronics or a related field.
• 5+ years of software development experience in automotive, ADAS, robotics or embedded perception systems.
• Hands‑on experience with automotive infrared or other perception sensors, real‑time or multi‑threaded software, and vehicle networks (CAN bus, DBC databases).
• Proficiency in Linux or NVIDIA development environments and version‑control systems (Git).
