Senior Technical Advisor, Supply Chain

About the role

FHI 360 is seeking an advanced subject‑matter expert to lead the technical design, direction, and quality of supply chain and commodity security across its health programs. The Senior Technical Advisor will shape procurement, logistics, and cold‑chain strategies while partnering with governments and global funders.

Key responsibilities

• Set FHI 360’s technical agenda for procurement, quantification, forecasting, warehousing, distribution, and inventory management.
• Lead national supply‑chain strengthening with ministries of health and central medical stores to improve forecasting accuracy and reduce stock‑outs.
• Direct technical support for commodity security, including quality‑assured sourcing, regulatory pathways, and customs clearance.
• Design and deploy logistics management information systems (LMIS) and ensure interoperability with DHIS2 and national health information systems.
• Provide guidance on cold‑chain and vaccine logistics, temperature monitoring, and effective vaccine management assessments.
• Define private‑sector engagement strategies and total‑market approaches for product availability.
• Coordinate with global procurement partners such as the Global Fund, Gavi, UNICEF, PFSCM, WHO, and USG mechanisms.
• Lead transition and sustainability planning for supply‑chain functions.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in health‑sector supply chain management and commodity security.
• Proven ability to work with ministries of health, central medical stores, and international financing partners.
• Strong knowledge of procurement, forecasting, LMIS, cold‑chain logistics, and quality‑assurance processes.
• Demonstrated leadership in technical coordination and strategic planning.
