Senior Staff Product Designer – Developer Platform

About the role

Runway is building AI that simulates the world by merging art and science. We are looking for a Product Designer to own the developer experience for our API, shaping the docs, console, and integration flow.

Key responsibilities

• Design the developer console and API documentation, covering account setup, API keys, usage, billing, and rate limits.
• Prototype and ship playground tools, quickstarts, and code samples that let developers test endpoints before writing integration code.
• Translate new models and endpoints into clear, well‑documented interfaces while keeping pace with a fast‑moving API surface.
• Collaborate with platform engineering to design authentication, webhooks, and other technical flows that developers can easily understand.
• Set design direction for the developer platform and mentor other designers.

Required profile

• Experience designing developer‑facing products and shipping platform tools.
• Ability to translate technical concepts into intuitive interfaces without extensive manuals.
• Strong visual design skills and experience delivering high‑fidelity UI for web products.
• Comfort iterating quickly in close partnership with engineering teams.

Required skills

• API design and documentation.
• Prototyping tools and functional prototypes using AI tools such as Claude Code and Cursor.
