Senior Staff Electromechanical Engineer

Shield AI is redefining autonomous aviation with cutting‑edge AI and GPS/RF‑denied navigation technologies. We are seeking a Senior Staff Electromechanical Engineer to design and integrate avionics systems, driving designs from concept through production. The role demands cross‑functional collaboration in a fast‑paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Design complex electro‑mechanical solutions for avionics packaging, electrical interconnects, thermal management, and aircraft integration.
• Perform structural, preliminary thermal, and modal analyses to ensure survivability in harsh environments.
• Ensure compliance with performance, safety, environmental, and EMI/EMC standards such as DO‑160, DO‑254, DO‑178C, MIL‑STD‑810, and MIL‑STD‑461.
• Own design work from concept through reviews, system validation, failure analysis, and flight‑test readiness.

Required profile

• B.S. and/or M.S. in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
• 10+ years of experience in mechanical and electrical equipment design for aerospace, including harness integration and component design.
• Expertise in CAD software (NX, SolidWorks, CATIA) for 3D modeling and system layout.
• Familiarity with eCAD tools (Altium, Cadence, Allegro) and harness design software (Capital, Zuken).
• Experience collaborating with electrical engineers on PCB constraints and mechanical interfaces.
• Proficiency in finite element analysis (FEA), thermal analysis, and fatigue/lifecycle testing.
• Ability to thrive in an agile, fast‑paced development environment.
• Eligibility for a S//SAR level security clearance (desired).
