Senior Staff Accountant

The Enviva team is driven by a shared vision for a renewable‑energy future. This position supports monthly accounting and finance activities to improve operational efficiency and process accuracy. The Senior Staff Accountant ensures financial transactions are recorded correctly while gaining exposure to complex plant‑operation tasks.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare journal entries and supporting documentation during the corporate monthly close.
• Assist the Plant Controller with balance‑sheet reconciliations, bi‑weekly forecasts and the annual budget.
• Process high‑volume invoices, perform three‑way matching, and ensure proper coding and timely payment.
• Maintain sales‑tax tracking, accrue monthly tax liabilities, and verify compliance with financial policies.
• Conduct weekly and monthly inventories of raw materials, spare parts, consumables and finished‑goods shipments.
• Communicate daily with the port’s Office Manager to confirm load‑out records and resolve inventory discrepancies.

Required profile

• 4–7 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related quantitative field.
• Demonstrated ability to process a high volume of invoices and purchase orders.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy and ability to meet tight deadlines.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and an ERP system such as Microsoft Dynamics or SAP.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of financial data and work cooperatively with all staff levels.
