Senior Software Test Automation Engineer

About the role

3M is looking for a Senior Software Test Automation Engineer to join a global team of innovative engineers. You will design, develop, and maintain automated tests for server‑side components, APIs, and integrations while collaborating with cross‑functional teams worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Design, code, and maintain automated tests for backend software, services, and APIs.
• Develop reusable automation frameworks, test utilities, mock services, and validation tools.
• Apply security best practices, including encryption and secure communications, throughout system design.
• Troubleshoot and optimize software performance, reliability, and interoperability across hardware and software interfaces.
• Identify, document, and track software defects in partnership with development teams.
• Provide technical leadership and contribute to engineering best practices at a mid‑senior level.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Minimum seven years of software development experience, including automated testing of server‑side or backend systems.
• Demonstrated ability to work across a broad technology stack and coordinate with external development resources.
