Senior Software Engineer, Product

About the role

We're seeking a Senior Software Engineer, Product to reshape how millions of loans are serviced through artificial intelligence. In this role you will build and enhance Salient’s AI platform that automates loan servicing, payment processing, fraud prevention, and customer support.

Key responsibilities

• Develop complete features across both frontend and backend layers of the application.
• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code with appropriate test coverage.
• Troubleshoot and debug complex issues across the technology stack.
• Optimize application performance and scalability.
• Own both product manager and software engineer responsibilities, balancing technical considerations with user needs and business goals.
• Incorporate customer feedback into product and features.

Required profile

• 4+ years of software engineering experience.
• Proven track record of shipping user‑focused products.
• Experience building scalable systems.
• Ability to work four days a week onsite in San Francisco (relocation welcome).
• Experience in highly regulated industries is a plus.
• Background that combines big‑tech and start‑up experience is a plus.
• Knowledge of auto loan servicing is a plus.
