Senior Software Engineer, Mobile (iOS)

About the role

Google is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to drive the development of iOS mobile applications. The role focuses on building high‑performance, scalable features for Google’s products, including Waze, and contributes to the broader mobile ecosystem.

Key responsibilities

• Write, test, and maintain production‑grade iOS code.
• Participate in or lead design reviews, evaluating technology choices with peers and stakeholders.
• Review and provide feedback on code to ensure style, testability, efficiency, and best practices.
• Update documentation and educational content in response to product changes and user feedback.
• Diagnose, debug, and resolve system issues, assessing impact on hardware, network, and service quality.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 5 years of software development experience.
• Minimum 3 years of iOS application development.
• 3 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products.
• 1 year of experience designing large‑scale applications.
• Preferred: Master’s or PhD in Computer Science or related field.
• Preferred: 5 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
• Preferred: 1 year in a technical leadership role.
• Preferred: Experience developing accessible technologies.
• Preferred: Extensive programming experience in C or C++.
