Senior Software Engineer – Legal Data Platform

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join the legal data platform that powers AI labs and legal‑tech companies. You will be the ninth employee, working on greenfield problems that automate complex legal‑document processing at scale.

Key responsibilities

• Design and build data pipelines that enrich court decisions with metadata such as overrulings, appeals and remands using Python and SQL.
• Develop and maintain reliable web‑scraping systems that collect hundreds of thousands of court documents and resolve citations.
• Expose core services through APIs, MCPs and WebSockets for internal and external consumption.
• Benchmark and evaluate system performance with human and synthetic tests.
• Contribute to infrastructure and DevOps tasks, ensuring high availability and accuracy of the platform.

Required profile

• 2+ years of experience as a backend or full‑stack engineer in a strong engineering culture or early‑stage startup.
• Proven ownership of greenfield projects and ability to make technical decisions independently.
• Strong engineering fundamentals and a pragmatic, AI‑native mindset.
