Senior Software Engineer

About the role

Boston Scientific is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design, develop, verify, and maintain software for implantable neural stimulation systems. The role is hybrid, based in the Costa Rica office with three days onsite per week.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, verify, and maintain software solutions for implantable medical devices.
• Develop desktop applications using C#.NET, WPF, XAML, MVVM, and Entity Framework.
• Build scalable web applications and services with Java, Spring Boot, Vue.js, REST APIs, AWS, microservices, and serverless architectures.
• Lead software development activities across the product lifecycle, including architecture, design, testing, code reviews, and deployment.
• Ensure software quality through unit, integration, and system testing and maintain technical documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• 8+ years of professional software development experience with strong proficiency in C# and .NET.
• Proven experience developing Windows desktop applications using WPF, XAML, and MVVM.
• Hands‑on experience building web applications with Java, Spring Boot, Vue.js, JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Experience in regulated industries and familiarity with medical device standards is preferred.
