Senior Software Engineer

About the role

Sealing Technologies is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join its hybrid team in Columbia, MD. You will own the development and evolution of the Zepharis product suite, contributing across the full stack and ensuring reliable, mission‑critical delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Design and architect solutions for the Zepharis suite and its integrations.
• Co‑lead day‑to‑day development of UI, API, and database layers.
• Build new features using Python, React, FastAPI, Pydantic, SQLAlchemy, and PostgreSQL.
• Architect database schema changes, plan migrations, and troubleshoot issues in local, CI, and production environments.
• Document technical decisions and mentor junior engineers.

Required profile

• U.S. citizenship.
• 8+ years of software engineering experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, IT, or equivalent experience.
• Proven ability to ship enterprise web applications and handle production incidents.

Required skills

• Python (FastAPI, Pydantic, SQLAlchemy).
• React, Vue, TypeScript.
• CSS frameworks (Bootstrap, Tailwind CSS, BaseUI) and state management (TanStack Query, Redux).
• Testing tools (Vitest, Jest, Cypress, Playwright).
• PostgreSQL with migration tools (Alembic).
• Docker/Podman, Docker Compose.
• Git, GitHub, CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Argo CD).
• Server‑Sent Events, WebSockets.
