Senior Software Engineer, HPC DevOps

About the role

Radiant is building the world’s first mass‑produced portable nuclear microreactors. We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to own and evolve the high‑performance computing (HPC) and scientific‑computing infrastructure that powers our engineering teams. You will work closely with developers, nuclear scientists, and DevOps engineers to deliver reliable, high‑throughput tooling that lets researchers focus on their science.

Key responsibilities

• Support scientific‑computing workflows for tools such as Ansys, STAR‑CCM+ and Abaqus, handling licensing, environment setup, job orchestration and results storage.
• Act as the primary point of contact for engineering teams, translating HPC, MPI and Linux questions into actionable work items.
• Diagnose and resolve infrastructure requests, MPI/Linux debugging, and job failures, prioritising across multiple disciplines.
• Modernise legacy scientific‑computing stacks, migrating to current technologies to improve maintainability and performance.
• Partner with DevOps engineers to manage AWS and on‑premises Linux environments, ensuring high availability, security and performance for mission‑critical workloads.
• Contribute to build systems, testing frameworks, deployment automation and developer environment tooling.

Required profile

• Several years of experience in HPC, scientific computing or related infrastructure roles.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to manage a steady flow of cross‑disciplinary requests.
• Patience, organisational ability and a collaborative mindset.
