Senior Site Reliability Engineer

About the role

Sanity.io is building an AI‑powered Content Operating System and needs a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to keep the platform fast, reliable, and safe at massive scale. You will work closely with development teams to design, build, and operate the core infrastructure that powers real‑time content authoring and distribution for high‑traffic customers worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate shared platform foundations such as GCP infrastructure, Kubernetes, networking, CI/CD, and observability.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot complex distributed systems handling up to 75,000 requests per second.
• Ensure observability, create dashboards, and analyze stack behavior.
• Modernize edge, caching, and gateway layers on Fastly and tighten platform observability.
• Raise reliability standards through better alerting, paging, on‑call readiness, and incident response.
• Automate safe rollouts, production‑readiness checks, and golden‑path workflows.
• Mentor engineers, conduct code and design reviews, and pair program.
• Participate in on‑call rotation and support developer on‑call rollouts.

Required profile

• Based in the United States with reasonable overlap with European engineering hours.
• 5+ years of SRE experience, including on‑call rotation.
• Analytical approach to designing, diagnosing, and optimizing high‑volume cloud infrastructure.
• Comfortable handling incidents and communicating under pressure.
