Senior Security Platform Engineer

About the role

Rivian and Volkswagen Group Technologies are building the software foundation for the next generation of electric vehicles. As a Senior Security Platform Engineer you will lead high‑impact security initiatives across the vehicle ecosystem, bridging firmware, embedded systems, and cloud services.

Key responsibilities

• Drive end‑to‑end execution of vehicle security projects across software and hardware, including development, integration, and testing.
• Create and maintain threat models to inform security architecture decisions.
• Design and implement scalable security features and automation tools.
• Facilitate cross‑functional discussions to balance effective security controls with practical implementation.
• Partner with product teams to embed security early in the development lifecycle.
• Build and maintain platforms that enable secure feature development at speed.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• 4+ years of experience in product security, embedded security, or a comparable security engineering role.
• Strong programming experience in high‑level languages such as Go, Rust, Python, or Java.
• Solid understanding of cryptographic principles and secure communication protocols.
• Ability to work across the stack, from low‑level firmware to full‑stack solutions.
