Senior Salesforce Architect (Remote)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Salesforce Architect to own design authority over a heavily customized Salesforce org and its surrounding integrations. This full‑time remote position requires hands‑on development with Apex and Lightning Web Components, as well as strong DevOps practices to deliver safe production changes.

Key responsibilities

• Design and build complex Salesforce solutions using Apex and Lightning Web Components, producing durable architecture documentation.
• Write SOQL queries against a custom object model that tracks donor contributions, budgets, allocations, and outgoing grants.
• Make informed trade‑off decisions on scalability, maintainability, and user experience, and anticipate platform limits and integration failures.
• Lead system security and data‑compliance efforts, including sharing models and field‑history tracking.
• Evaluate, recommend, and manage Salesforce features and third‑party tools.
• Mentor team members, review technical work, and raise the technical bar across the team.
• Oversee user‑support function and resolve escalated cases.
• Implement DevOps best practices with Gearset pipelines and IDE‑based workflows (IntelliJ + Illuminated Cloud).
• Shape AI‑enabled development workflows and explore Experience Cloud portal builds.

Required profile

• Extensive Salesforce administration and development experience, with a strong background in solution architecture, implementations, and data migrations.
• ~5+ years of hands‑on Apex and Lightning Web Components development, typically ~7+ years at a senior architect level.
• Deep, current knowledge of Salesforce platform capabilities and limitations.
• Proven ability to design custom integrations and manage complex, high‑touch processes.
