Senior Procurement Officer

About the role

The Technical College System of Georgia is seeking a Senior Procurement Officer to lead high‑value purchasing activities for its colleges. This senior‑level position ensures that all procurements are fair, competitive, and aligned with state regulations while supporting fiscal responsibility.

Key responsibilities

• Process requisitions and purchase orders for TCSG technical colleges.
• Develop specifications, solicit, evaluate, and award bids and RFPs.
• Determine appropriate procurement methods based on thresholds, funding sources, and regulations.
• Review, negotiate, and administer contracts, amendments, renewals, and change orders.
• Provide guidance on purchasing rules, processes, and compliance to internal procurement staff.
• Resolve vendor disputes in accordance with DOAS and TCSG procedures.
• Maintain relationships with internal departments, external vendors, and state entities.
• Stay current on market trends and commodity developments through professional development.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in senior‑level procurement or purchasing within a public‑sector environment.
• Strong knowledge of Georgia state purchasing rules, DOAS regulations, and applicable federal requirements.
• Proven ability to manage complex, high‑value contracts and lead procurement initiatives.
• Excellent analytical and negotiation skills.
