About the role
The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is seeking a Senior Private Sector Engagement Officer to lead the development and management of strategic partnerships with private‑sector stakeholders. Based in Washington, D.C., the officer will work under the Head of Partnerships and Pipeline Unit and the Chief of the Global and Domestic Programme Unit to mobilize resources, influence corporate practices, and support IOM’s migration programmes worldwide.
Key responsibilities
- Identify, initiate and negotiate partnerships with corporations, foundations and industry associations aligned with IOM’s strategic priorities.
- Lead the private‑sector due‑diligence process and ensure compliance with IOM partnership policies.
- Mobilize flexible funding and in‑kind contributions to support humanitarian, health, labour‑migration and anti‑trafficking initiatives.
- Promote corporate social responsibility actions that enhance the protection of migrants’ rights.
- Coordinate the Goodwill Ambassador and celebrity engagement programmes.
- Provide technical guidance and capacity‑building support to IOM country offices on partnership development.
Required profile
- Proven experience in private‑sector partnership development, resource mobilization or corporate engagement, preferably in an international or humanitarian context.
- Strong understanding of migration issues and the role of the private sector in addressing them.
- Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder‑management skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across multiple IOM units and regional offices.
