Senior Pediatric Radiology Section Head

About the role

We are seeking a senior physician to lead the pediatric radiology section at Ochsner Health’s new Children’s Hospital. The Section Head provides strategic leadership, oversees clinical operations, and drives quality and safety across the pediatric imaging division.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the pediatric radiology section, including staffing, scheduling, and resource management.
• Develop and implement strategic plans to improve clinical services, patient outcomes, and operational efficiency.
• Collaborate with the Chair of Radiology and senior leadership on budgeting, compliance, and policy development.
• Ensure delivery of high‑quality, patient‑centered imaging and adherence to radiation safety protocols.
• Participate in diagnostic interpretation and interventional procedures as needed.
• Support education programs for medical students, residents, and fellows and promote faculty research.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in pediatric radiology or a related imaging subspecialty.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor faculty, fellows, residents, and technologists.
• Strong collaboration skills with multidisciplinary teams and institutional leadership.

Required skills

• Radiation safety expertise.
• Diagnostic imaging interpretation.
• Interventional radiology procedures.
• Proficiency with the EPIC electronic medical record system.
