Senior Operations Coordinator – Financial Services

About the role

The Senior Operations Coordinator provides advanced operational, administrative, and project coordination support for the Finance Department at Texas A&M University–Kingsville. Reporting to the Associate Vice President, the role ensures efficient departmental operations, supports strategic initiatives, and facilitates communication across divisions and stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate daily operational activities of the Finance Department, monitor priorities, and develop/improve procedures.
• Provide high‑level administrative support to the Associate Vice President, including correspondence, reports, presentations, and meeting coordination.
• Assist with budget monitoring, financial tracking, expenditure reporting, and preparation of analytical data for decision‑making.
• Ensure compliance with institutional policies, support audits, and maintain documentation for regulatory requirements.
• Lead special projects and strategic initiatives, develop timelines, monitor deliverables, and facilitate cross‑department collaboration.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
• At least four years of related experience, preferably in high‑level operations or a fast‑paced environment.
• Strong oral and written communication, interpersonal, and organizational abilities.

Required skills

• Budget tracking and financial reporting.
• Data analysis and preparation of executive reports.
• Project management and process improvement.
• Knowledge of organizational policies and compliance procedures.
