Senior Nutritionist – Applied Nutrition Research

About the role

Join Nestlé Purina’s Research & Product Development team to lead applied nutrition research that advances pet health and wellness. You will leverage deep scientific expertise to develop new technologies and translate findings into product innovations for companion animals.

Key responsibilities

• Initiate and lead research projects aligned with strategic pet‑health areas.
• Translate research findings into product claims, technical communications and commercialization opportunities.
• Provide project leadership, ensuring timely documentation and delivery.
• Formulate research hypotheses, design experimental plans and execute scientific studies.
• Conduct all activities in compliance with GMP, GLP and company policies.
• Leverage veterinary and consumer insights to drive health‑focused innovation for dogs and cats.
• Stay current with nutrition literature and intellectual property, proposing new approaches.
• Publish research in peer‑reviewed journals and present at industry conferences.
• Maintain collaborations with academic institutions, veterinary specialists and external experts.

Required profile

• PhD in nutrition or a related scientific field.
• Experience designing, managing and publishing clinical research in animal nutrition (preferred).
• Willingness to travel up to 10% of the time.

Required skills

• Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) compliance.
• Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) compliance.
• Diet formulation expertise.
• Knowledge of metabolism and gastrointestinal physiology.
• Clinical research design and execution.
