Senior Mission Operations Sustainment Engineer (MUSV)

About the role

Saronic Technologies seeks a Senior Mission Operations Sustainment Engineer to keep its Medium Unmanned Surface Vessel (MUSV) platforms mission‑ready. You will own the propulsion, electrical, hydraulic and hull systems, diagnose faults in the field, and ensure long‑term reliability of autonomous vessels operating in contested littoral environments.

Key responsibilities

• Lead scheduled and unscheduled maintenance of USV platforms in shore‑based and forward‑deployed settings.
• Independently diagnose and repair complex mechanical, electrical and software‑interfaced system faults.
• Conduct pre‑ and post‑mission inspections, manage maintenance logs, technical records and configuration status.
• Oversee spare‑parts inventory, OEM/vendor coordination, and author maintenance SOPs and troubleshooting guides.
• Develop and deliver comprehensive training courses for military technicians and junior engineers.
• Mentor personnel, ensure safety compliance, and coordinate with operators for range and water‑space deconfliction.

Required profile

• Credentialed marine engineering background with extensive hands‑on experience on autonomous vessels.
• Proven ability to lead maintenance teams and communicate technical information to diverse stakeholders.
• Experience working with DoD material condition standards and class society guidance.
• Willingness to travel to forward‑deployed sites and work in challenging environments.
