Senior Mechanical Project Manager

About the role

Creature is a vertically integrated Design‑Manufacture‑Construct (DMC) company based in Birmingham, AL. The Senior Mechanical Project Manager owns the mechanical value stream – P&L, schedule, labor and quality – for HVAC and plumbing self‑perform work across medical and commercial projects. This role has full authority over planning, staffing, pricing and delivery from pre‑construction through close‑out.

Key responsibilities

• Own the P&L for all mechanical and plumbing self‑perform work, build and defend budgets, and protect margins through real‑time cost tracking.
• Lead portfolio‑level schedule and delivery, set standards for field leaders, review look‑aheads and resolve field obstacles.
• Develop labor strategy, workforce planning and field leadership, recruit talent and standardize training pipelines.
• Perform estimating, takeoffs and pre‑construction rigor to ensure bids reflect real field conditions.
• Implement and continuously improve systems and standards using Excel, Smartsheet and Procore as the system of record.
