Senior IT Systems Administrator

About the role

Seasats is seeking a Senior IT Systems Administrator to own and manage its internal IT environment for a fast‑growing team of about 100 employees across software, engineering, manufacturing, operations and field testing. The role is based on‑site in San Diego and combines day‑to‑day support with strategic planning of systems, security and infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the primary point of contact for employee IT support, troubleshooting devices, accounts, applications, networks and office technology.
• Administer Google Workspace, identity, endpoint, password and collaboration systems, and manage Windows, macOS and Linux devices via an MDM platform.
• Design, implement and maintain reliable office networks, including DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPNs, Wi‑Fi and firewalls across multiple facilities.
• Handle employee onboarding, access changes, off‑boarding and maintain inventory, licensing and device replacement planning.
• Partner with engineering and operations to address IT needs in labs, manufacturing spaces and field environments.
• Support security and compliance initiatives through documentation, controls, audits and customer questionnaires.

Required profile

• 6+ years of hands‑on IT systems administration or operations experience, preferably owning IT for a small‑ or mid‑sized organization.
• Strong experience with Google Workspace or Microsoft 365 administration and MDM management of Windows and macOS devices.
• Solid networking knowledge (DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPNs, Wi‑Fi, firewalls) and working knowledge of Linux.
• Experience with identity management, SSO, MFA, access controls and employee lifecycle management.
• U.S. person status as defined by export control laws.
