Senior Intelligence Analyst, DPRK & China Focus

About the role

Join Chainalysis' Global Intelligence Team as the subject‑matter expert on North Korean and Chinese crypto threats. You will own end‑to‑end attribution of DPRK and China‑related illicit activity, turning deep on‑chain analysis into actionable intelligence for customers and partners.

Key responsibilities

• Own attribution of DPRK and China threat actors, including Lazarus Group, state‑sponsored theft, Chinese OTC networks, guarantee marketplaces and related laundering infrastructure.
• Lead rapid attribution responses to sanctions events and produce high‑visibility on‑chain coverage.
• Map illicit fund flows across mixers, cross‑chain bridges, no‑KYC swaps and off‑ramps, keeping the picture current as adversaries adapt.
• Produce finished intelligence products such as advisory notes, briefings and contributions to flagship reports.
• Represent Chainalysis publicly as the external expert on DPRK and China crypto threats.
• Define collection priorities for the domain and translate typologies into detection guidance.
• Design and tune AI‑driven automation to scale analysis and handle edge cases.
• Mentor and elevate the team’s tradecraft on money‑laundering and threat finance.

Required profile

• Deep, demonstrable expertise on DPRK state‑sponsored crypto operations and/or Chinese money‑laundering ecosystems.
• National‑security or threat‑finance background (intelligence, sanctions, law enforcement, military, think‑tank or private‑sector CTF).
• Regional fluency with strong grasp of illicit‑finance flows; Mandarin and/or Korean language ability is a plus.
• Proven track record of leading complex analytical problems end‑to‑end.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for senior‑level audiences.
