Senior Indirect Tax Analyst

About the role

Discord is expanding its global tax function and needs a senior professional to lead indirect tax compliance and support corporate tax initiatives. You will work across multiple jurisdictions, partner with Finance, Engineering, Legal and external advisors, and help shape tax strategy during rapid growth.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end‑to‑end indirect tax compliance, including Sales & Use tax, VAT/GST, and related obligations across multiple jurisdictions.
• Prepare and review U.S. federal, state, and international corporate income tax returns and own the ASC 740 provision process.
• Drive international tax workstreams such as transfer pricing documentation, intercompany transactions, and cross‑border compliance.
• Respond to tax authority notices and audits, and research tax incentives, credits, and legislative changes.
• Prepare month‑end and quarter‑end close workpapers, reconciliations, journal entries, and tax reporting for equity award programs.
• Administer and optimize tax technology platforms and compliance software.
• Identify and implement process improvements, internal controls, and automation opportunities.
• Support ad‑hoc and special tax projects as needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 3–6 years of corporate tax experience, preferably in a public accounting firm or technology company.
• Strong understanding of U.S. Sales & Use Tax, global VAT/GST, and U.S. federal and state corporate tax.
• Experience with ASC 740 income tax provision and transfer pricing documentation.
• Detail‑oriented, collaborative, and intellectually curious.
