About the role

The Senior Field Service Technician/Electrician will lead the oversight and execution of electrical wiring, installation, testing, maintenance and repair of equipment on Enerflex’s rental fleet. This role supports development of electrical standards, reviews design drawings, and ensures compliance with industry and safety codes.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide electrical expertise for ECC and application groups, creating and updating company standards for three‑phase low and medium voltage systems, transformers, switchgear, MCCs, VFDs, and related equipment.
  • Develop electrical specifications for rental compression packages and assist procurement of transformers, switchgear, MCCs, VFDs, power cables, UPS systems, and heat‑trace circuits.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot malfunctioning electrical equipment, including motors, generators, transformers, VFDs, and power distribution centers.
  • Prepare accurate field service, expense, and other required reports on a regular basis.
  • Read and interpret detailed drawings such as P&IDs, grounding layouts, lighting plans, cable tray schedules, and control schematics.
  • Coordinate with internal and external teams for factory acceptance testing, technical issue resolution, and delivery compliance.

Required profile

  • Minimum 5 years of commercial/industrial electrical experience; Texas, Oklahoma or New Mexico license preferred but not required.
  • Proven ability to work with live voltages up to 600 V using proper PPE and to follow NEC, NFPA‑70E, NFPA‑496, NFPA‑497 standards.
  • Experience in EPC projects within the oil and gas sector, especially gas plants and compressor stations, is a plus.
  • Strong math skills for measurements and electrical calculations.
  • Self‑motivated, able to work under general supervision and meet deadlines, with willingness to travel up to 50 % of the time.
