Senior Field Service Technician / Electrician

About the role

The Senior Field Service Technician/Electrician will oversee and execute electrical wiring, installation, testing, maintenance and repair of equipment on Enerflex’s rental fleet. The role supports development of electrical standards, reviews design drawings and specifications, and ensures compliance with industry and safety codes.

Key responsibilities

• Provide electrical knowledge support for ECC and various application groups.
• Create and maintain company standards for three‑phase low and medium voltage power, transformers, switchgear, MCCs, VFDs and related equipment.
• Develop electrical specifications for rental compression packages and assist with RFQ and PO generation.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot malfunctioning electrical equipment such as motors, generators, transformers and VFDs.
• Prepare accurate field service, expense and other required reports.
• Coordinate procurement of transformers, switchgear, MCCs, VFDs, cables and related components.
• Design and install electrical wiring and make final connections up to 4160 V after conduit installation.
• Read and interpret detailed drawings including P&IDs, grounding layouts and control schematics.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of commercial/industrial electrical experience.
• Ability to read and work from blueprints, engineering drawings and P&IDs.
• Strong math skills for measurements and electrical calculations.
• Experience working with live voltages up to 600 V using proper PPE.
• Knowledge of NEC, NFPA‑70E, NFPA‑496, NFPA‑497 and related codes.
• Experience in EPC, oil & gas, gas plants or compressor stations is a plus.
• Commissioning and start‑up experience is a plus.
• Willingness to travel up to 50 % of the time and work overtime as required.
