Senior Field Service Technician – AMS

About the role

The Senior Field Service Technician (AMS) performs maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, installation and commissioning of gas‑fired and electric‑driven compressor packages. The role supports fellow technicians, leads advanced maintenance tasks and ensures reliable operation of compression equipment in the field.

Key responsibilities

• Represent Enerflex professionally and deliver outstanding customer service.
• Submit accurate field service reports, expense reports and timesheets daily.
• Direct, coordinate and execute job activities aligned with project goals.
• Provide leadership and training to new and junior field technicians.
• Diagnose engine and compressor failures independently and efficiently.
• Lead rebuilds, overhauls and installations of compressors, engines and controls under adverse conditions.
• Troubleshoot advanced electrical systems and control panels (Murphy, Altronic, Allen Bradley).
• Perform engine tuning for multiple OEMs (CAT, Waukesha) to adjust performance and emissions.
• Respond to recurring problems and emergency service calls without supervision.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental policies.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED with advanced vocational/technical training.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant field service experience.
• Current certifications from CAT or Waukesha (e.g., CAT Gas I, CAT Electrical, Waukesha VHP, etc.).
• Commitment to ongoing OEM‑specific training and skill updates.

Required skills

• CAT and Waukesha certification series (Gas I, Gas II, Electrical, ADEM III, Master Mechanic, Failure Analysis, etc.).
• Advanced troubleshooting of electrical systems and control panels (Murphy, Altronic, Allen Bradley).
• Engine tuning and performance optimization for CAT and Waukesha engines.
• Mechanical inspection using micrometers, pressure gauges, electronic diagnostic equipment and specialty tools.
• Leadership in compressor rebuilds, overhauls and new unit installations.
