Senior Field Service Technician (AMS)

About the role

The Senior Field Service Technician (AMS) is responsible for advanced maintenance, installation and commissioning of natural gas refrigeration and process systems. The role involves leading junior technicians, troubleshooting complex electrical and mechanical issues, and providing exceptional on‑site customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and train junior field technicians while managing job activities to meet project goals.
• Diagnose and repair system and component failures, including advanced electrical troubleshooting of Allen Bradley PLCs and microprocessors.
• Plan, procure, and execute rebuilds, overhauls, and new unit installations with full commissioning and start‑up inspections.
• Prepare accurate field service reports, expense reports, and timesheets on a daily basis.
• Travel extensively across multiple states on short notice, including nights, weekends and holidays.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED with certification in Refrigeration Theory and Principles.
• 10+ years of experience in refrigeration and process systems, plus universal EPA certification.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to pass pre‑employment drug screen, background check and physical testing.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and personal computer usage.

Required skills

• Advanced troubleshooting of natural gas refrigeration and process equipment.
• Programming and diagnostics of Allen Bradley PLCs and other microprocessor controls.
• Mechanical inspection using micrometers, pressure gauges, electronic diagnostic tools.
• Electrical control panel diagnostics and schematic reading.
• EPA universal certification and state refrigeration registration where required.
