Senior Field Service Rotator – Gas Compression Packages

About the role

The Senior Field Service Rotator provides advanced maintenance, installation, and overhaul services for gas compression packages in the field. This position requires independent troubleshooting, leadership of junior technicians, and the ability to operate in adverse conditions while delivering exceptional customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and complete rebuilds/overhauls of compressors, engines, and controls on gas compressor packages with minimal supervision.
• Perform advanced troubleshooting of electrical systems, controls, and unit control panels (Murphy, Altronic, Allen Bradley).
• Install new units, conduct commissioning, and carry out start‑up inspections independently.
• Provide leadership, training, and mentorship to new and junior field technicians.
• Submit accurate field service reports, expense reports, and timesheets daily.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED with advanced vocational/technical training.
• 10+ years of relevant field service experience on gas‑fired and electric‑driven compressor packages.
• Physical ability to stand, walk, lift up to 75 lb occasionally and 35 lb regularly, and work in hot, humid, cold, rainy, or muddy environments.
• Certification proof from CAT/Waukesha for multiple modules (e.g., CAT Gas I, CAT Electrical, Waukesha VHP).

Required skills

• CAT certifications: Gas I, Gas II, Electrical, 3500 ADEM III, 3500 ULB, 3600 ADEM III, 3600 Master Mechanic, Failure Analysis.
• Waukesha certifications: VHP, 9390.
• Ariel Basic and Ariel Mechanical certifications.
• Advanced engine tuning for CAT and Waukesha units.
• Mechanical inspection using micrometers, pressure gauges, electronic diagnostic equipment.
• Troubleshooting of electrical controls and panels (Murphy, Altronic, Allen Bradley).
