Senior Field Service Mechanic – Forklifts & Heavy Machinery

About the role

WMH is looking for an experienced Senior Field Service Mechanic to deliver advanced diagnostics, expert repairs, and proactive maintenance on forklifts and heavy machinery. You will work directly at customer sites, ensuring equipment uptime while mentoring junior technicians.

Key responsibilities

• Travel to customer locations in a company‑provided van to service and repair material handling equipment.
• Perform complex mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical diagnostics and repairs.
• Conduct preventive maintenance, inspections, and safety checks on both WMH and customer fleets.
• Train and coach junior technicians, fostering a culture of excellence.
• Provide expert customer support, communicate service updates, and document work orders accurately.
• Maintain compliance with OSHA standards and industry regulations.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience as a mechanic/technician in material handling, heavy equipment, or automotive sectors.
• ASE certification preferred (brakes, electrical, diesel, preventative maintenance) and forklift certification a plus.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to lift 50+ lb and work in varied weather conditions.

Required skills

• Advanced knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical circuitry.
• Proficiency with diagnostic software, schematics, and fleet management platforms.
• Experience using Microsoft Office and digital work order tools.
