Senior Embedded Systems QA Engineer

About the role

EdgeBeam is seeking a hands‑on QA contributor to lead testing and validation of its embedded receiver devices, covering both hardware and the software stack. The role works closely with internal device teams and external vendors to ensure reliable, stable products for customers.

Key responsibilities

• Own hands‑on validation of embedded devices across hardware, operating system, and application software.
• Develop and execute test plans for new releases and regression testing of both software and hardware revisions.
• Define and run exploratory, destructive, fault‑injection, and chaos testing strategies.
• Reproduce, isolate, and document defects with detailed logs, serial output, and packet captures.
• Build and maintain automated test suites to increase coverage and reduce manual effort.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in embedded systems testing or a related hands‑on engineering role.
• Strong troubleshooting across hardware, firmware, operating systems, networking, and software.
• Experience with Android and embedded Linux platforms such as OpenWRT and Yocto.
• Ability to work independently, own defects from discovery through verification, and communicate findings clearly.

Required skills

• Python scripting for test automation.
• Command‑line tools, serial consoles, ADB and JTAG.
• Embedded Linux (OpenWRT, Yocto) and Android development.
• Networking concepts: packet structures, UDP, DHCP, routing, multicast.
• Testing of cellular, Wi‑Fi, Ethernet and GNSS interfaces.
• AI‑assisted testing procedures.
