Senior Electronics Engineer

About the role

Seasats operates a growing fleet of unmanned surface vehicles and is rapidly scaling production and deployment. We are looking for a Senior Electronics Engineer to own and ship reliable hardware across power, communications, and payload systems, working closely with engineering and production teams to deliver solutions for demanding, remote environments.

Key responsibilities

• Lead system‑level electrical design and make trade‑offs between power, thermal, reliability and manufacturability.
• Own schematic capture and PCB layout from prototype through bring‑up, debug and production, coordinating with external manufacturers.
• Debug hardware both on the bench and in the field, tracing root causes across electrical, firmware and mechanical domains.
• Collaborate with firmware, software, testing and manufacturing teams to identify issues early and improve system reliability.
• Design and review power architectures for battery‑powered systems, including regulation, distribution and protection.
• Analyze field failures and test data, feed learnings into next iterations, and mentor junior engineers.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent with 5+ years of hands‑on hardware design and shipping experience.
• Strong fundamentals in power distribution, battery management and control systems, and ability to obtain a U.S. security clearance.
• Experience taking PCB designs from schematic to production (50+ units) using Altium Designer.
• Proven ability to debug electrical, firmware and system‑level issues using C/C++ or Python.
