Senior Database Administrator (DBA SME)

About the role

DPG is seeking a Senior Database Administrator / DBA SME to support a mission‑critical customer in a classified environment. The position is ideal for professionals with hands‑on experience maintaining operational mission systems, secure infrastructure, and the ability to work independently as a senior technical resource.

Key responsibilities

• Administer, sustain, troubleshoot, and improve relational database management systems in a classified mission environment.
• Support database design, configuration, patching, backup, recovery, replication, and disaster‑recovery activities.
• Collaborate with systems engineers, software engineers, DevOps, data, and security teams to deliver reliable backend database solutions.
• Automate routine administration tasks to improve consistency and reduce manual effort.
• Provide operational support for mission platforms, including planned maintenance, incident response, and occasional after‑hours support.
• Document configurations, procedures, troubleshooting steps, and system changes.

Required profile

• 8+ years of experience in database administration, engineering, or related technical work.
• U.S. citizenship with active TS/SCI clearance (FS Polygraph) and DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (e.g., CompTIA Security+).
• Proven experience managing Oracle, Oracle Exadata, PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server or similar databases in secure, classified environments.
• Strong Linux command‑line skills and ability to script/automate tasks.
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot performance, availability, replication, backup, and security issues.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently.
