Senior Data Engineer

About the role

Camber is building data infrastructure that powers its healthcare platform. As a Senior Data Engineer you will own the design, implementation, and reliability of the data pipelines and platforms that enable clinicians to access timely, accurate information. You will work closely with engineers, analysts, and product teams to shape scalable solutions and mentor junior staff.

Key responsibilities

• Design and build a reliable, observable, and scalable data platform.
• Define and drive the strategy for data architecture and tooling.
• Collaborate with product, reporting, and platform teams to deliver the right data at the right time.
• Mentor other engineers, establish best practices, and foster a high‑trust culture.
• Deliver incremental improvements in ambiguous or messy environments.
• Adapt quickly to changing startup priorities.

Required profile

• 6+ years of experience in data engineering or related backend roles.
• Proven success building and scaling data pipelines, platforms, and infrastructure.
• Deep knowledge of AWS and open‑source data tools such as Spark, Iceberg, Kafka, and dbt.
• Ability to balance speed of delivery with long‑term quality.
• Excellent communication skills for cross‑team prioritization.
• Experience providing technical mentorship and setting vision.
