Senior Cost Accountant

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Cost Accountant to join Saronic Technologies’ accounting and finance team in Austin. The role will focus on product costing, manufacturing analysis and inventory valuation, becoming the subject‑matter expert on our autonomous maritime products and their production processes.

Key responsibilities

• Own the inventory costing process and ensure accurate financial reporting impacts.
• Maintain standard costs for finished goods and production components in a global ERP system.
• Track manufacturing and operational costs using standard costing methodology.
• Validate inventory records, collaborate with production, inventory control and engineering teams.
• Identify and analyze cost variances weekly, preparing detailed reports for management.
• Support month‑end close, financial reporting and cost accounting requirements.
• Conduct internal audits of ERP data and assist with process improvements for cost control.
• Prepare financial analyses related to manufacturing costs, inventory and expenses for decision‑making.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance; CMA or CPA is a plus.
• 3‑5 years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, cost accounting principles and inventory management.
• Proven ability to streamline and automate complex processes.
• Excellent analytical mindset with high attention to detail.
• Effective communication skills and confidence presenting professional opinions.
• Ability to work independently under pressure in a fast‑paced setting.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel, including financial modeling.
• Experience with NetSuite or other ERP accounting systems.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
