Senior Communications Specialist – Imaging Solutions

About the role

Sony Electronics' Imaging Solutions team is seeking an entrepreneurial Senior Communications Specialist to lead consumer‑facing public‑relations for cameras, lenses and related products. Based in San Diego, you will shape media strategy, manage influencer programs and translate technical features into compelling stories.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and execute media relations and product launch plans, track KPIs and report to stakeholders.
• Manage PR agencies to achieve launch and evergreen objectives, reviewing media materials and supporting inquiries.
• Write and adapt press releases, FAQs and other media assets, coordinating reviews with global stakeholders.
• Build and maintain relationships with top‑tier press and influencers across technology and lifestyle verticals.
• Oversee media review and loan programs to secure positive editorial coverage.
• Partner across categories, departments and Corporate Communications to ensure unified messaging.
• Support imaging events, including on‑site media and influencer management (travel required).
• Collaborate with influencer and ambassador teams on paid projects and content.
• Work with product experts to brief influencers and media for product education.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of public‑relations experience, preferably in consumer technology.
• Strong written, verbal and presentation skills.
• Proven ability to distill technical features into clear stories for diverse audiences.
• Organized, thorough, proactive and comfortable taking initiative.
• Experience navigating complex organizations and collaborating cross‑functionally.
