Senior Buyer – Procurement & Supply Chain

About the role

The Senior Buyer is responsible for the timely, cost‑effective procurement of goods and services that support production across the assigned region. This role leads supplier negotiations, contract management and drives sustainability initiatives throughout the supply chain.

Key responsibilities

• Manage annual purchases of $20‑$110 million, overseeing supplier agreements and ensuring on‑time delivery.
• Develop and execute procurement strategies with central commodity teams to minimize total cost of ownership.
• Lead projects, coach junior buyers and act as the commodity/category lead for multiple categories.
• Monitor inventory levels, collaborate with suppliers to reduce excess stock and support mill demand fluctuations.
• Prepare and present procurement performance reports to regional and central management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Economics or related field, or at least 10 years of direct procurement experience.
• Strong negotiation, communication and analytical skills with a self‑starter attitude.
• High ethical standards, leadership ability and commitment to diversity and sustainability.
• Willingness to travel 10‑20 % to maintain vendor relationships.
