About the role
The Senior Biorepository Coordinator leads the Center for Translational Transplant Medicine (CTTM) biorepository, overseeing the collection, processing, and storage of blood and tissue specimens from pediatric and adult transplant and abdominal surgery patients.
Key responsibilities
- Coordinate consent and enrollment of patients undergoing transplants or abdominal surgeries.
- Maintain and oversee the biorepository bank of blood and tissue specimens.
- Supervise junior coordinators, train new personnel, and manage the CTTM research team for off‑hours coverage.
- Communicate with principal investigators, research staff, and multidisciplinary clinical teams to ensure protocol‑compliant specimen collection.
- Organize and rotate the 24/7 CTTM research call schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in a scientific or related field with at least 3 years of research coordination experience (or equivalent).
- Strong organizational, critical‑thinking, and problem‑solving abilities.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Detail‑oriented with strong analytical capabilities.
- Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, unpredictable clinical environment.
Required skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Proficiency with Google Workspace tools.
- Experience using electronic medical record systems.
- Familiarity with the OnCore research management platform.
- Specimen collection and processing expertise.
- Knowledge of clinical operations and medical terminology.
