Senior Architect – Infrastructure & Transit Projects

About the role

Artheon is seeking a Senior Architect to lead and support major infrastructure, rail, and transit projects across the New York and New Jersey region. The role blends architectural design leadership, compliance coordination, construction administration, and client relationship management.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage architectural project teams and external consultants on a daily basis.
• Lead multidisciplinary design efforts, ensuring alignment across internal teams, contractors, and client organizations.
• Manage project schedules, milestones, deliverables, and budgets for complex infrastructure initiatives.
• Prepare and finalize architectural contract documents, drawings, and specifications.
• Conduct site visits, produce field reports, handle submittals, substitution requests, and RFIs.
• Present design solutions to clients, stakeholders, and regulatory agencies.
• Maintain client relationships and coordinate project needs with design and construction teams.
• Lead change management and implement project modifications.
• Mentor junior architects and support their professional development.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture.
• Licensed Architect in New York preferred; New Jersey license or active pursuit acceptable.
• 7–10 years of architectural experience, especially on large‑scale transportation or transit projects (NYCT, MTA, NJ Transit, etc.).
• Proven leadership in all design and construction phases of infrastructure projects.
